OMG MY HAIR!

Ok, for those of you who don;'t know me! I've had mega long hair for a very long time , down nearly to my bum! and really don't like hair dressers! (trust me an awful experience with a Spanish hair dresser, ok she was English and dyed my fell's hair at the time light buld yellow! OK MAYBE SHOULDN'T OF LET HER TOUCH MY HAIR READING THIS ha) but anyway, she cut my hair (a few years ago now) and basically she said at the end "OH IT'S MEANT TO LOOK LIKE HAIR EXTENSIONS!"

WHAT! no! my hair was all one length and i just wanted layers! GOD IT WAS AWFUL! so basically i don't like people cutting my hair!

But unfortunately it had gone sooo long without a cut and was just a tangled mess i looked like a hobo dread lock fruit loop....couldn't brush it properly and had to get my mummy to brush my hair at times! I'M 25!!!!!! plus the amount of shampoo and conditioner! wow! no wonder i was always cursing when paying for my shopping and weekly cosmetic products!

So basically i decided to have it cut! what started as a trim turned into 5 inchs of the length and do you know what I LOVE IT! it feels awesome, fresh and bouncy. I have really thick hair so it was awesome to feel some weight being taken off.....! but here's the mess i left behind ha!

I took the bag of hair home (yes i know, whack job) and told my fella well we have a enough hair now for him to get plugs! ha.....yep he wasn't too impressed.....(he's losing his hair, touchy subject he he but i secretly laugh ha ha ha ha! )

So thank you to my lovely wonder hair dresser, Lisa @ talking heads in Northampton! I LOVE MY NEW LOOK!

Hmmmm well we was thinking….We’ve started to do more craft shows and wanted to make some new items to sell as bits and bobs on our stall! So we’ve made some key rings!

New Item Alert! Buggy Cosys!

JUNE 2013

OK my mother is amazing! Look what she has created…..just amazing! Our new range of buggy cosys are going to be sold on our website for £45.00 plus P&P which I think is a fab price….my buggy cosy (the fleece tie up one) cost me £30.00 from a high street shop! So £45.00 for an irreversible buggy cosy, including zip and a Velcro strapping system for ease of attachment is a bloody steal!

Basically our buggy cosy’s are made from one side: cotton / the other side: Fleece – so to keep snug and warm in the winter and cool in the summer! The bottom (which is attached to the seat) has wadding inside for soft little bottoms to sit on! A good sized pocket on the cotton side of the cover which is big enough for bottles / beakers and best of all those ever going missing dummies! I don’t know about you but when I’m out and about I get soooo annoyed with having to stop every 5 minutes to give my son his beaker and then the juice spills into the cosy and its just a night mare!

The way the zip is sewn in means the actual cosy can be reversed when one side is dirty! And you have it whichever way you would like it! We’ve also but a Velcro strap on at the top to hold in place on the bars of the pram! So no fiddling tying and untying the knots! Which I think it great, just unstraps it when I want to wash it!

Tutorials / Maker Kits

JUNE 2013

Right I keep getting asked about some tutorials and possible maker kits for our embellishments! Basically what I am going to do it getting a kit together and start selling them for £7.00 plus £1.99 P&P – these will be great for updating old cushions for the kids! Add to old curtains to bring back to life, or even stitch onto old blankets you may have to revamp!

As well as selling the kits I will be putting up some templates and a tutorial just in case you feel you would like to source the materials yourself and give it a go! So everyone’s a winner!

Hello everyone!

Ok well I know we haven’t been blogging much lately but so much has been going on!

Moving house, re-designing the website and making new orders! OH AND NOT FORGETTING A TWO AND HALF YEAR OLD WHO RUNS OUR LIFE! Just can’t believe how busy we are….it’s been a major learning curve and we now know we need to keep on top of everything!

We’ve had to up our prices a little because we can’t keep the orders going at the price we originally set! But we will be running discounts, so grab a discount when we send them out :-)

Rabbit Crafts

Ok well, when we went to the Baby and Toddler show in April we meet a lovely lady called Louise who runs Rabbit Crafts! There are some lovely items for sale on her website including this amazing tooth fairy kit! Hand Made Jewellery and best of all so different!

So when she asked if we would like to sell our items on her website, of course we jumped at the chance! She’s choosing the items herself so it’s great to know she likes what we do and want us to be a part of Rabbit Crafts

Website Coming Along!

30^th April 2013:

Mini Mix Website!

Ok its been a work in progress in the final stages of getting the website sorted! There will be a section on theme wall ideas, pictures I’ve found on the internet and also some I’ve sketched myself! Great inspiration for little ones bedrooms! I’ve nearly got the product area sorted with all the pictures ! Some great looking pics! Took them all last night at my nanny’s which is currently HQ ha! The website is very colorful, full of life, bright and fun! Which shows what Mini Mix is all about…… !

Got some pictures below which will be going on our website! Cant wait to get it launched! Also got some meetings set up for other companies to use our items in there displays and that! Exciting times!

Baby and Toddler Show, Glow BLUEWATER! 18-21 April 2013

22^nd April 2013!

OMG what a fantastic weekend! The Baby and Toddler show was manic for us! My mum was like a Duracell rabbit! CONTASTANTLY ON THE GO! She was fantastic! So proud, got lots of orders as well so just brilliant!

So the plan is now to update the website or just design a new one. Going to post some links to some fantastic products we saw at the show and some ideas for fantastic gifts for special occasions and just basically everything! And draw our competition as well to notify the winners!

We have re-booked for OCTOBER but going for a bigger, better stand! Learnt so much this weekend! Loved every minute of it!

Received some lovely emails about future orders and feature walls so will keep everyone updated!

LINKS TO A GREAT LITTLE SEWING MACHINE AND PAPER AND STRINGS WHO I LOOOOOOVE!

OHHHHH GOD! Only 9 days to go until the baby and toddler show in Glow Bluewater! Everything is now coming together but we had a massive drama over the weekend! My mummy has our slinger sewing machine at her house but we decided I needed one at mine to get everything done in time so mummy brought me an awesome pink sewing machine from my favourite place in the world HOBBY CRAFT!! J It obviously was a display item or used in a demo because the packaging wasn’t great but it was the only PINK machine they had left and I really really wanted it! So at the check-out the sale’s lady said to bring it back if it was damaged! Well two days later, Sunday night when I really needed to get the bits sewn on after being ill for FOUR DAYS (god dam you flu) and you know, being on a very tight schedule and all that would the machine work! NO IT WOULDN’T! After an hour of tinkering and re-reading the instructions I just couldn’t take it no more! It went back in the box, a few tears watching it go (I LOVED IT) and now it’s back at Hobby craft and I had to exchange it for a new one, which for the extra £20.00 is 100 times better for what I need and what I should of went for in the first place…… but never mind, that will teach me for loving the PINK ha! so basically drama diverted and got all the sewing done last night!

Easter Weekend....Mocked up Cot Bumper Sets

2^nd April 2013

Arghhhhhhh it’s getting CLOSER! Only 2 weeks to go to get all our makes and items sewn together and sorted! Scary!!!!

Anyways I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and bank holiday! Freezing in England and we are all full of colds! My son’s nose is like the Nile; clean it and then it’s back again within 10 minutes! How is that possible? How can such a little person produce so much gunky horrible snot! Not to mention the icky stomach he had, so all fun and games….. L…. But on the plus note had a lovely Easter dinner, Alfie got a lot of Easter Eggs and it’s a crime against the Easter Bunny not to eat them all and just to top it off put on my trousers this morning and they are VERY VERY tight so erm……GYM here I come! Oh and me, being smug thinking I hadn’t caught anything from my little monster woke up today with a raging sore throat and lots of SNOT! ARGH!

Well that’s my rant over ha!

Got some pictures of us mocking up some of the designs for the cot bumpers, I’ve got to say and YES I am VERY BIASED but they look absolutely fab! So different and unoriginal! Every cot bumper set is going to be unique and not one will be the same! J Absolutely loving that it’s all coming together, there’s light at the end of the tunnel yet! Ha! And I’ve got to give a big shout out to Paper and Strings! I brought there felt and its lovely…… so nice to cut and work with also the colours I ordered are very vibrant and bold which is just want we want! Got to order some more soon…..i want my free promotional kit ha!

Waiting For Orders

Ok so the weekend is over and back to the drawing board, well not exactly back! been working hard this weekend. Moved all my stuff (ok crap) from my house and rushed into storage, kids driving us crazy as usual. Made lots of pirates and fishes for my cot bumpers! and went out for a lovely Sunday lunch for my Granddads birthday yesterday! all go go go oh and not forgetting the 3 bottles of wine we polished off over the weekend while watching some awesome telly! so a sore head as well! but never mind, a very productive weekend in all.

So excited for this week! i have to travel to London for work, waiting for my orders from http://paper-and-string.blogspot.com/ - some great felt rolls to complete some bits! and getting my fabric to start piecing together all our hard work! exciting times!!

Also going to start piecing together some tutorials for everyone to use and see! and start looking at great blogs to follow! not long until the Baby Toddler Show in Essex! so much going on! :-)
